Past Loves and Current Crushes

I think we all know how hard it is to get rid of a well worn pair of jeans or shoes. I have a tendency to become oddly attached to my clothing items, I never want to throw anything away. I look at the holes, stains, and rips as stories, memories. Well worn clothes are like diaries for the world to see.

Let's take a look at a pair of desert boots I got for Christmas in 2010. The suede is gross, the upper part is dyed blue from my jeans, and there are holes in the soles. I loved these shoes, and wore them just about everyday. My mom tried to throw them away numerous times, and I threw a fit.

I eventually agreed with my mom, it was time for these to go. And, yesterday, I tossed them in the garbage, along with a pair of plaid flannel pants....

I initially wanted a pair of leather desert boots, but I got a suede pair for 50 bucks. I got mine at the Clarks Outlet, and my friend got the leather ones for 24 bucks at Nordstrom Rack. Discount stores for the win. Let's take a look at my fresh kicks.

Just like anything else in life, you have to make hard decisions, and sometimes you have to let go. And, yesterday was my time to do so. I love my new shoes, the fit at the ankle is better than my worn out pair. I'm hardcore crushing on these shoes. And that's all because I let go of my past love.

Ha. I just got all romantic and stuff.
