Campus Crush: Maya

Remember Maya? I told you all to watch out for her. Aaaaand she's back. I know you all think I'm super stylish, beautiful, smart, funny, etc and always want to see what I'm wearing to class and stuff, but sometimes you have give other people the spotlight. I also hope that you all know me well enough to take that previous statement in complete jest. In all seriousness, I often look to people who have a differing sense of style to get inspiration for my own looks. With that being said, meet Maya.

Maya is a first year at this fine institution of learning and a proud member of the Women's Rugby team. She also likes pasta without sauce. But, if there must be sauce on her pasta, she likes pesto.

Now that you all know her pasta preferences, we can talk about her fashion preferences. What I really love about her outfit is the mixing of stripes; vertical and horizontal of differing widths. They're both in cool shades which is why they go so well together. Then she hits us with neutral pants to balance out the look. And her necklace is just nice.

She's wearing a sweater from Forever 21, circa 2008 aka a time in her life when she didn't know how to wear a sweater like this one. Her shirt is from American Eagle and her shoes are Diba. She finished off her look with a mix of jewelry. Supes cute (amiright, Maya?).

Feel free to hit that follow button on her Instagram. Follow errythang all worn out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! I hope y'all were able to get out into the community and do some good over this long weekend. We're all probably well aware of Dr. King's legacy, so I'm not going to give you all a history lesson (but, if you need one click here). What I will share are these two photos I came across on the interwebs in which you see Dr. King taking a break from wearing a suit and tie.

In the first photo we see Dr. King in a short sleeve white shirt, sunglasses, and a watch. Pretty typical, but I was intrigued by the fact that he is actually utilizing his breast pocket. No one does that anymore. I absolutely had to share the second one -- work shirt and denim. Sounds like a familiar trend, huh? And the photo is just powerful. I have no idea what exactly was happening in the photo, but look at how the men took a knee when he walked by -- that's powerful.

Bonobos: Weekday Warrior Collection

Need I say this once more?! Nahh, but I will. Menswear is muh favorite. And, sometimes when you're rushing to Spanish and you feel your phone vibrate it's not your professor sending you an email saying that the final has begun (...), it's an awesome email from Bonobos about their recently launched collection of pants for men. This is a no-excuses-for-wearing-sweatpants-to-class sort of collection. These just as easy, non-iron pants give you every reason to reinvent yourself as a Weekday Warrior.

via Bonobos
If you've never heard anything about Bonobos, they focus on better-fitting clothes and creating a better shopping experience. One thing that is unique (and pretty effing cool) about Bonobos is that they have brick and mortar "Guideshops." This a place where you can go in and meet with a stylist, or "Guide," who will help you find the fit, color, and size perfect for you. You can't buy anything directly from the shop, but your orders will be placed and shipped right to you making for a less cluttered train ride back to campus. Basically, Bonobos makes it super easy to look your best.

I'm going to guess that most of the young men reading this blog are really just tryna stunt in the hallway or the quad -- and that is a more than respectable goal. Slip on your Weekday Warriors, ditch the tie and go for a more casual look paired with desert boots. You might think that your classmates won't realize that your fit is just flat-out superior, but they will. They'll be hating.

Bonobos is a brand you'll want to keep an eye on. Look at that attention to detail. Every pair of pants comes with the day embroidered on the waistband. This particular collection offers twelve colors, in both straight leg and, for the more adventurous, slim fit. You can pick up a pair for 98 bucks. I know that's a few weeks of food on a college budget, but these pants can be worn to class or to that interview for your dream internship. The price will definitely payoff.

Oh, who's that? Just future you killing it decked out in duds from Bonobos.

Be sure to check out the full collection, and all that Bonobos has to offer, at Bonobos.com.

Best Dressed: Golden Globes 2014

Happy New Year, everybody! The great thing about the start of the new year is that we jump right into awards season. Which also means we jump into red carpet season and get to see all of the celebrities we detest look awful our favorite celebs get all dolled up. The Golden Globes are fun because they're important, but they're not the Oscars. This awards show is like the primer; people are gonna show out, but once the Oscars roll around, they're gonna pop out. Ya feel me?  I'm not in the business of crapping on people's lives, so this will be my short list of the best dressed gals of Hollywood.

Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren. This was Lupita's first Golden Globes appearance (and definitely not her last based off of her performance in 12 Years a Slave) and she looked like the spotlight is definitely where she belongs. This look is pretty trendy right now, yet her choice to go without any eye-catching jewelry and make-up that only enhances her natural beauty, keeps the look clean and classic. Definitely my favorite look of the night.

Amy Adams in Valentino. Let's be real, Valentino red always kills on the red carpet. Her look is simple and screams, "I'll cooly glide onto the stage when American Hustle wins picture of the year."

Olivia Wilde in Gucci. I can totally see someone saying that she looks like a character out of Marvel's next comic book, but I think this shade of green is my absolute favorite. I actually don't know who homegirl is and I'm going to venture to say that she is pregnant and doesn't just have a huge stomach and tiny arms. With that being said, I appreciate the silhouette. It's more flattering than the typical pregnant, billowy dresses.
